Collagen and Fat Injections for Smoother Skin
Most surgical procedures, such as chemical peels and laser resurfacing are meant to remove the outer layers of skin, forcing new collagen growth which eventually fills in the wrinkles. The opposite approach is to fill in the wrinkles with an injectable substance such as collagen or fat. This fills in the defects giving the skin a smoother appearance. The most common filler is bovine collagen. Since there is a risk of allergic reactions, a skin test is required before its use. There are now bioengineered collagen products that are non-allergic and do not require a skin test, as well as synthetic fillers. Another choice is a transplant of your own collagen or even fat removed by a mini-liposuction procedure just before injection. Usually you will receive a local anesthetic and the collagen product will be injected directly under the surface of the skin. There may be some bruising or swelling in the treated areas. The collagen injection restores the skin's natural collagen and you skin will look younger as it fills out. Just like your own natural collagen, injected collagen will eventually start to break down and need to be replaced. You might have to repeat the treatment several times a year. However, injected fat tends to last a lot longer and the results may be permanent, especially if it was injected into other areas in the face containing fat. According to a report issued by the Harvard Medical School, a new product is being developed that is designed to produce new collagen as needed. Called Isolagen, it uses a sample of your own skin to clone fibroblasts, the cells that produce collagen. Since this is a new procedure, its long term effects are still unknown. Anyone who watches movies or TV knows the results of overdoing these types of procedures. Many famous actresses wound up with lips reminiscent of Bozo the Clown from overzealous collagen injections. Make sure you use a doctor experienced in this procedure and be frank with him on the results you expect to receive. When properly done the results should be undetectable and natural looking, giving you another weapon against wrinkles and creases in your face. This article is for informational purposes only. It does not purport to offer medical advice. Consult a qualified physician if you are interested in any of these procedures. Local Business Directory Of Kentucky U.S.A. Brighten Up Dull & Tired Skin
As we grow older and are constantly exposed to the UV rays of the sun our skin starts to appear dry and dull. This is the result of the outside layer of the skin getting excessive build up and is not exfoliated on a regular basis. Build-up is especially noticed after we have spent the summer in the sun. It’s more apparent to women since we realize that our make-up doesn't look as fresh and our foundation begins to fade within a couple of hours. Our make-up and foundation is actually being absorbed into the accumulated dead skin cells, which gives a very tired and unhealthy look to the skin. To keep your skin vibrant and healthy on a regular basis, you must have a regimen that incorporates exfoliation and nourishing the skin. Your regular skin care program does not have to be a department store or drug store solution. You can prepare an all nature skin care program right from your kitchen table and manage to get the same results if not better results that your store bought product promises. Exfoliation: You should exfoliate at least 2-3 times per week (daily is even better) to keep the skin’s healthy glow. One solution for exfoliating the skin in an in expensive way is to use sugar. Yes, Sugar! Glycolic acid which is found in most AHA (alpha hydroxyl acid) products is from sugar cane. You can benefit from glycolic acid by using sugar for exfoliation. Simply mix ½ to 1 teaspoon of sugar in with a small amount of your favorite skin cleanser. Wet your face and massage the cleanser/sugar mixture over your face for 1-2 minutes. Rinse your face with lukewarm water to remove this mixture and you will instantly feel a difference in your skin. Nourish: Give your skin a refreshing drink with a simple nourishing facial mask. The ingredients are powerful and can be found in your kitchen. Combine one or more main ingredient with a liquid ingredient for to make a wonderful facial mask. Base your ingredient choices on the health properties of each item. Base Ingredient: Honey – It is a humectant (which draws in moisture) and it has antibacterial qualities that also stimulates and smoothes the skin. Mango - Provides natural fruit enzymes which also exfoliates the skin and the oil in mangos help moisturize. Avocado - A naturally rich moisturizer has essential fats and oils. Oatmeal – Moisturizing and slightly exfoliating Liquid Ingredient: Milk – Enzymes and Lactose acid to exfoliate and milk fat to condition the skin. Aloe Vera Gel – Healing and softening. Egg White – tightening and conditioning. You will want to follow your treatments with your favorite hypoallergenic moisturizer. For best results, these treatments can be done 2-3 times a week to help keep your skin youthful and vibrant.

If you are like a lot of women over 30, you are possibly starting to worry about the dreaded w-word – wrinkles. With the abundance of anti aging skin care products on the market, you have to ask yourself if there is any truth to what these products say they can do. Customer testimonials and a myriad of clinical studies have shown that yes, indeed, anti aging products can work, but ultimately you must decide for yourself. What are they purported to do, exactly? Anti aging products come in several different formulas – creams and lotions being the most popular. In addition to revitalizing your skin and reducing the signs of aging, a lot of products purportedly stimulate the renewal of skin cells, reduce under eye circles, hydrate skin, and smooth rough texture all while diminishing fine lines and wrinkles! Revitol Complete is but one of many products that boats the ability to dramatically reduce the signs of aging, revealing a radiant, younger you! Royal Gold Anti-Wrinkle Serum in another product claiming to reduce wrinkles while leaving your skin fresh and hydrated. These are but a few of the many products available for older skin, so go ahead and look around to see what works best for you. Once upon a time, these products were available only by prescription from a licensed dermatologist. Now, that’s obviously not the case and what was once prescription-only has now become mass-market; the reason being now they are made with all natural and safe ingredients. Typically, it can take up to 30 days for one to see results with these products. Some boast results in as little as two weeks, but in general you should wait about a month before you see any significant improvement. Most skin care products designed for older skin have some basics in common. They all have one, or a combination of, the following ingredients. Alpha hydroxy acids, beta hydroxy acids, argireline, Shea butter, and Edelweiss extract. Vitamin A, primrose oil and others can also be included, designed to give your skin the youthful and radiant glow it once had. Generally, after four to six weeks of continued use, you can see a dramatic improvement in your skin, possibly looking up to ten years younger than you did before! Sounds pretty amazing, doesn’t it? Of course, results are not typical and will vary depending on the individual. The bottom line is many people have seen promising results with these products, and the potential is there for you to, as well. Avoiding the sun, quitting smoking, moisturizing daily, exercising and eating a healthy, balanced diet are all ways to minimize the appearance of wrinkles. In combination with these methods, using an anti-wrinkle cream will surely help to combat the signs of aging, and will be more effective when used with the methods listed above. Everyone wants younger looking skin, and there’s no reason why you can’t have it!

All about Facial skin care
‘Facial skin care’ is more a matter of discipline than anything else. A facial skin care routine is what you need (and you need to follow the facial skin care routine with complete seriousness). So let’s check what comprises an effective facial skin care routine. Well, very simply, a facial skin care routine can follow the following 4 steps:  Cleansing  Toning  Exfoliating  Moisturising Cleansing is the first thing in facial skin care routine. Cleansing helps in removing dust, pollutants, grease and extra oil from your skin, thereby preventing damage to your skin. Just spot your face and neck with a good cleansing lotion or cream and gently massage it into your skin using upward strokes. Use a soft face tissue or cotton wool to wipe your face in a gentle patting fashion (do not rub). Cleansing should be done at least twice a day i.e. morning (as part of complete facial skin care routine) and evening (on a standalone basis). Water soluble cleansers are the best for inclusion in your facial skin care routine. Toning is the next in a facial skin care routine. However, this is the optional part of the facial skin care routine. Mostly, proper cleansing can compensate for toning. Toning helps remove all traces of dirt, grease and excess cleanser. Instead of making it part of your daily facial skin care routine, you can using toning occasionally i.e. when you have been exposed to particularly harsh environment/pollution. Exfoliation is again, kind of, optional step in everyday routine for facial skin care. However, exfoliation is necessary at least once a week (or twice, depending on the skin type and the environmental conditions). Exfoliation finds its place in facial skin care routine because of the natural tendency of skin to replenish the skin cells every 3 or 4 weeks. As a facial skin care technique, exfoliation helps in removing the dead skin cells that block the pores, thus assisting the skin in the natural process. However, excessive or harsh exfoliation can cause damage to your skin; so you need to balance it out. The next thing in facial skin care is moisturising. In fact, moisturising is the most important part of facial skin care routine. Moisturisers prevent your skin from getting dry. Dry skin is really undesirable since it cause the upper layer skin to break, leading to dead skin cells. Again, use light upward strokes to make the moisturiser more effective. Moisturisers work the best when applied on warm and damp skin. So do not try to remove all the moisture in the previous steps of facial skin care routine. Besides the normal facial skin care routine, you should also exercise the following for facial skin care:  Use proper make-up remover instead of just washing it away  Pay heed to your skin type and the environment, when choosing facial skin care products.  Before you start using a new facial skin care product, test it by applying it on a short patch of skin e.g. ear lobes.  Never rub your skin too hard.  Use sunscreen lotions for protection against sun. Aging Problem can be Effectively Dealt with Natural Skin Care Tips
Skin problems are unfortunately very common in every human life. The skin being the largest part of a body is in fact the easiest way to get infected. Besides, most part of the skin remains exposed to heat, dust and air especially our face. This leads to various common and major skin problems like aging or wrinkling. Factors like heredity, the damage caused by ultraviolet rays of the sun have a significant influence on the aging process. Since diet plays a large part in on human skin, the first step for overcoming aging problem is to make dietary changes. The key for maintaining a youthful glow is a lifetime dedication to healthy lifestyle and constant skin care. The fact is that beauty treatments related to skin will not help if a healthy lifestyle is not maintained. The aging of skin may be inevitable. But there are certain natural skin care tips to slow down wrinkles or avoid flabby skin. One common therapy is using of skin creams. It may be a part of your daily regime, but the best way to start an anti aging effort is from inside our body. First of all, it is necessary to check our water intake. There are varying opinions about how much water an individual needs for good health, but the general consensus remains that probably we aren’t drinking enough water. This means dryness and wrinkles. So it’s necessary to hydrate our skin by drinking plenty of water. But remember that alcohol, tea, tobacco and soft drinks contains caffeine and can dehydrate our skin leading to a wrinkle prone skin. On this context, a multivitamin is always acceptable. But instead of going for any multivitamin tablets, it’s better to include plenty of fruits and vegetables in our diet. It’s because our body easily absorbs nutrients from food. People who look younger than their age, repeatedly reveal one vital secret and that is getting enough sleep with a bit of daily exercise. Exercise helps our body to keep our weight down helps to digest our food easily and makes our sleep easy. A good sleep and a exercise helps us from aging, speed up our heart beats and at the same time tone our muscles by getting the blood flowing to the skin. Sometimes we might feel that we don’t have enough time to take care of our skin or to follow certain skin care tips, but remember a healthy skin will not only make you look younger but also make you feel younger.

Ageing Skin Care - Does Chemical Peeling Slow The Aging?
In skin care, doctors use chemical peeling as a procedure to remove sun damaged, pigmented and wrinkled skin by peeling it with chemicals. as the old skin peels off, new skin appears that is much fresher looking. But chemical peeling does not slow the aging process or prevent it. What is doe is to remove old damaged skin with a fresh looking new skin. After that it is up to you to take better care of your skin to keep it younger for more time by protecting it from sun. The process itself does not affect the internal ageing of the skin. If you expose your new skin to sun again, you will get damaged as you got damaged before. 8 Tips For Choosing The Right Cosmetics For Your Skin Type
The right cosmetics for any skin type is important to create a fresh natural appearance as well as to prevent reactions to the cosmetics such as allergies with resulting rashes, itching and weeping or breakouts with whiteheads or blackheads and painful skin eruptions. Every person's skin is unique and different areas on a person's face may have different characteristics which must be taken into consideration when choosing appropriate cosmetics. If you've been disappointed when your powder eye shadow creases and slides before lunch or your foundation looks lined and caked, understanding the characteristics of your skin and purchasing appropriate cosmetics for your skin type is a worthwhile exercise. Here are some tips to help you look your best. Avoid cosmetics that dry or irritate your skin Each different skin type will react differently to the various types of cosmetics. Even if a particular brand works for your eye shadow, the same brand may not work for lipstick. This is because the skin type on your eyelids may be very different from the skin type on your lips. When you are choosing cosmetics such as foundation, for example, avoid drying cosmetics or cosmetics that cause your skin to break out. Unfortunately, you may have to try several products in order to determine those that work on your skin consistently. Another issue which must be considered is that your skin may build up a reaction to a particular cosmetic which did not previously cause a skin irritation, so you may be forced to find an alternative to a tried and true brand which worked well in the past. Skin characteristics may change significantly over a lifetime as well, forcing a change in the type of cosmetics which you select. Consider your skin tone when selecting cosmetics Even if the particular type of cosmetic is just right for your skin type, choosing the wrong color--one which is either too light or too dark will make the cosmetics less than attractive. Select cosmetics that complement and match your skin tone and minor imperfections in skin tone and texture will disappear. Darker foundations, deeper colors for eye shadow and eyeliner will be best suited for those with chocolate or olive skin tones. On the other end of the spectrum, if you have pale skin, you should choose lighter shades of foundation and eye makeup. Cosmetics should enhance, never overpower the skin tones. Invest in quality makeup Quality makeup often tends to get painful to the pocketbook, but it shows on your skin. Cheap makeup can cake or slide on your skin and isn't as likely to blend. It is more likely to sit on the surface, giving a plastic look. Look for good quality cosmetics that aren't necessarily expensive. It's better to invest in yourself by purchasing quality makeup that you know looks great with your skin type. Dry Skin If you are the victim of skin that is dry, don't despair. You should find a mousse or crème type foundation. If you use a concealer, make sure it is cream based and your compact powder should be pressed compact powder. You should avoid loose power or oil free formulas as they will tend to settle in the fine lines on your face. Eye makeup is best done with silk-textured powder or crème eye shadows and eyeliner should be either a shimmer pencil or a matte type. Moisture is the key word with lipsticks and lip glosses. Find a moisturizing lipstick and use lip gloss that has ingredients such as aloe or vitamin E, both of which provide additional lip moisture. Sensitive Skin Look for products that are labeled specifically for use with sensitive skin and avoid fragrances in your cosmetic products. Non-allergenic is another phrase to look for on the labels. The key is to avoid anything with high dye levels or preservatives. Combination Skin You can either choose different products for different skin conditions on your face or you can select products which are specifically created for combination skin. Even so-called normal skin often has areas which are more or less oily than other areas. Normal skin may have times during the monthly cycle when it is oilier than usual. Oily Skin For oily skin, try using an oil free primer before applying a matte type foundation that won't clog your pores.Loose powder has fewer oils than pressed powder. Blot the skin periodically throughout the days to remove any shine. Avoid cremes for eye shadow or mascara and creamy style lip pencils. Cleanser options Avoid harsh or drying cleansers as well as greasy cleansers since either extreme will react unfavorably with your skin type. The best skin cleanser, regardless of the skin type is a water-soluble cleanser that is gentle on the skin.

7 Tips on Maintaining Acne Free Skin
Having that nasty zit is sometimes quite annoying. In fact, it is a great factor on suffering low self-esteem particularly on young people whose main focus at puberty is the physical attribute. Preventing acne breakout is not a piece of cake that is why even if you know everything about acne control, the acne still shows up every now and then. The lack of time to maintain acne free regimen daily contributes to the breakout. So how do you maintain your acne free skin? Here’s how: 1. Do not prick the acne affected area. Touching it with bare hands can cause further irritation. Unclean hands carry undesirable microorganism that can cause acne. So it is rather safe to keep your hands or any other object from your face to impede the inflammation of the acne and scarring of the skin as well. 2. Avoid using oil-based products on your hair. Guys and girls wear hair products to improve their appearance. Dermatologist might agree that the products are safe on the scalp however, this chemical-laden beauty products slide down to your face as you sweat out. The fluids goes down to the acne hence aggravate the already affected area of the skin. 3. Minimize the use of cosmetics over the pimple. It is alarming to know that although beauty products can conceal your pimple break out, it increases the risk of infection. The combination of the harsh compounds on your foundation makes up and bacteria that come with the sponge (if the foundation you are using is not newly opened) exacerbate the acne. If your job requires you to wear make up, you should avoid those generic brand make up. Some generic brands of make up do not mention the harsh chemicals that are present in the product. 4. If you are using alcohol-based and oil-based facial wash or toner, taking a break will somehow minimize the inflammation of the skin. 5. Avoid getting anything that might contain microorganism to touch your face. These include your unmanaged hair, dirty handkerchief, towels and even pillow. The only way to control the transfer of organism to your face from the material of origin is to always keep your hair in a bun or use a hair band that will keep it in place away from your face, a fresh pillowcase for your cushion, and clean towel and handkerchief to wipe your face. 6. An over-the-counter ointment can be bought from your local drugstore. A topical cream or ointment containing benzoyl peroxide is your best bet to vanish that undesired acne. Some dermatologist recommends tretinoin-based products cream over the benzoyl peroxide because of irritant threat on the peroxide content. Depending on how sensitive the skin is, you can choose from the two. 7. If the acne is severe, a visit to your dermatologist is needed. The dermatologist will prescribe oral antibiotic to take at a certain period of time. Or if applies, an adapalene gel will be prescribed by the dermatologist for you to use for time duration. Close monitoring of the medication is needed since like other prescription-required medicines, it might trigger unknown allergies.

7 Tips For Beautiful Skin
For most women, part of the morning and evening routines involve a skincare regimen of applying creams, moisturizers, tonics, lotions, and the like. Why do women put themselves through this? They do it primarily to combat the signs of aging, and to maintain youthful looks and beautiful skin! It is a safe bet, however, that most women haven't put much thought into what is in the products that they are using. Some women probably do not realize that what they are putting on their skin may actually be undermining what they are trying to prevent to begin with. In fact the average woman puts twelve products on her skin daily, most of which contain harmful chemical preservatives. Dr. Myron Wentz, founder and chairperson of USANA Health Sciences, has this to say about beauty in the company magazine's June/July 2005 issue: "Some say that beauty is only skin deep. Nonsense! I believe that true beauty is a reflection of true health, and true health begins deep inside each and every cell in the body. But true health and true beauty have an outer component, which is why we require protection from environmental insults such as solar radiation, pollutants in our environment and the drying effects of air. . . The fact is you simply cannot contain a healthy body if your skin isn't healthy. And your skin can't be healthy if your are subjecting it to toxic substances that are ultimately absorbed into your body." So, what can women do? How can they combat environmental pollutants, the affect of solar radiation, and the drying effects of air? How can they be sure they are using the very best products on their skin so they can be healthy inside and out? Here are 7 tips to assist in this process: 1. Be very aware of what is in skincare products. Use products that are all natural as much as possible. 2. Look for products that contain Dermal Surface Renewal Technology. DSR smoothes away existing signs of aging such as laugh lines, crows feet, and dullness. 3. Use products that have regenisomes. Regenisomes penetrate the skin to speed cell renewal after sun exposure. They also use the light of photosomes to undo sun damage, and have ultrasomes to renew skin while sleeping. 4. Find products with Proteo-C and Proflavonol-T. These two vitamins protect the skin from premature aging caused by the sun, pollution, and other environmental factors. They also provide advanced nutrition to the skin to keep it appearing smooth and firm. 5. If possible, use products that are paraben free. Parabens are synthetic chemical preservatives that are widely used in personal care products such as shampoos, conditioners, hair styling products, make-up, facial masks, skin lotions and creams, and deodorants. They also are typically ingredients in baby lotions, shampoos, and other personal care products for infants and children. In addition, parabens are in many foods and pharmaceutical products. Researchers are beginning to find parabens in benign and malignant human breast tumors. While some studies have challenged their toxicity in many products and question their long term affect on humans, using products that are paraben free can eliminate the risk of exposure to this harmful chemical. 6. Drink plenty of water! Water hydrates skin and hair as well as flushes toxins out of the body. 7. Limit stress or learn to manage it effectively. Stress is harmful both emotionally and physically. Find that stress reliever activity that works best and use it on a daily basis! Follow the above 7 tips to true beauty and health.
